Latin America has started its slow but inevitable path towards legitimacy and legality of the rights of LGBTQ persons. Along this path the issue regarding the right to adoption has arisen. Because of civil society, in particular because of feminist activism and the movement for sexual diversity, the debate concerning the forms of regulations of the family has taken on a public character. The issue of non-heterosexual parenthood is starting to become a point of discussion in the region and the publication of the three books reviewed in this article is an expression of that: Conjugalidades, Parentalidades e Identidades Lésbicas, Gays e Travestis, Homoparentalidades Nuevas Familias, Homosexualidade e Adoçao.
